GEL offer the most comprehensive service to the Leisure Industry. With fully coded welders we carry out critical repairs to all makes of rides and coasters. GEL carry out repair work for all the quality Theme Parks across the UK, including Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Flamingoland and many others.

As well as this service GEL offer a bespoke design and build service for many rides and transport solutions to the Leisure Industry. GEL design and build a number of locomotives and rolling stock for all forms of track systems. Examples are shown below, for some of our locomotives but GEL can design and build to any client requirements.

GEL have developed a unique reliable electric drive system for all the transport system options listed below. This prevents any overloading of the motors, and makes the systems very simple to operate and maintain. Any of the systems below can be made to operate via electric current.

Jupiter Locomotive

The Jupiter Locomotive is a very distinctive looking locomotive, which can run on a variety of track gauges. The one shown in the picture is 18” gauge. These locomotives can be powered by Diesel Hydraulic, Gas Hydraulic or Electric Systems. The locomotive can be themed to suit the individual client and is capable of traveling around a 12m radius and traveling up a 1% gradient.

The locomotive can pull a variety of themed coaches and typically this locomotive can pull 12, 18, 24 and 30 seat coaches. Depending on the track layout and gradients will depend on the number of coaches.

GEL can theme locomotives to any clients requirements, the examples to the left are some of the locomotives designed and built by GEL.

Themed Rides

GEL also specialize in themed childrens rides. GEL use the world renowned Curtis Controllers to control these electric rides. These controllers are extremely reliable and can operate around curves as tight as 1.5m radius, dependant on the design required. The rides can be mounted on a simple track, or can be self steered around a track. The track power supply is converted into 48V using GEL’s unique tropicalized transformer which can operate in any weather conditions.
