Across the world we have a wide selection of rides, gating systems, and refurbishments that have stood the durability test, keeping clients and guests happy. However, before the installation, transportation, testing, and manufacture there’s an incredible amount of hard work that goes into the preparation for such a project. The Garmendale Engineering Ltd design team are the frequently unsung heroes, working closely with clients to ensure all specifications and requirements are met. Creating thorough plans, and blueprints as well as concept art, offering clients a unique view of what the desired project will look like in situ. Hours of preparation and experience are poured into every design offering adaptable, efficient, and crowd-pleasing ride systems to stand the test of time.
Recent design challenges include a modification of our dual-seat electric cars made for a family pleasing ride experience, for adult and child to ride together. Our electric cars have been entertaining families for several years at some of the UK’s most popular parks, for example Sundown Adventureland’s ‘Monkey Mayhem Driving School’. A few years ago, our design team was challenged with modifying the dual-seat electric cars to reach a much higher-spec, that of a theme park ride built for a cruise ship. The Garmendale design team had the huge task of over-hauling the rides original design to meet marine specifications of the highest level. The resulting design offers clients the highest corrosion protection, meeting and exceeding DN-V and Lloyds specification. If these specific requirements weren’t enough for the team to tackle, they also had to design the cars to celebrate a world-renowned IP.
Our design capabilities are not limited to full ride systems. Every now and again we are approached with a particularly complicated engineering problem, and we turn to our team of designers to find the solution. An example of such a conundrum is a door/gating system for a roller coaster ride system, enabling the coaster to traverse from inside to the outside of the ride building, safely without hindering the speed and excitement of the ride. Our team’s response was to design a high-speed roller shutter door system, with scrims. This design is a prime example of safety, and efficiency, without effecting the rides passenger through-put. As a team, our designers understand how vital the smooth running and high passenger throughput is to a client. This high-speed roller shutter door system has not only been designed, but also been manufactured, transported, installed, and tested across the globe. The need for a quick reliable door system to accompany rollercoasters and dark rides, is a problem the world over. From the UK to the middle east, the set of high-speed roller shutter doors in Abu Dhabi is a prime example of this problem solving, groundbreaking system, you can see it in action below.
