Track completion and assembly – A theme park ride in construction – Part 4

3 Electrical pick-ups and insulators added to the 147m track for the secret project

03 Aug Track completion and assembly – A theme park ride in construction – Part 4

Another week and another huge amount of progress with the track now completed and ready to fit. There’s 147m of it altogether and it works just like a massive Scalextric track with a guide rail and then two pick-ups either side to deliver power.

The sub-assemblies are now also completed and are being mated to the chassis. You’ll see from the image below that the bearing assemblies are all in place. Each axle has four bearings to ensure it will deliver years of faultless service and you may also notice that they all have a grease nipple on them for routine maintenance.

To help us along this week, we have had a visit from Frankie the Schnauzer, who is overseeing the work and trying her hardest to distract Zoe Shelmerdine the Sales Director. She’s obviously failing.

We will be launching the project at EAS in Barcelona, stand 833 on September 20-22nd and the team will be on hand to answer any questions. We hope to see you there.
