We are proud to announce that our Sales Director Zoe Shelmerdine has joined the Europe & Middle East Division Board of the Themed Entertainment Association.

The Themed Entertainment Association was formed in 1991 to to promote and grow the visitor attractions industry. It is is the international membership association for the creators of compelling places and experiences. The members include both manufacturers like Garmendale, but also the operators of theme parks and attractions too. This allows them to offer unparalleled access to the industry with SATE conferences throughout the world offering loads of new learning and training opportunities and ‘behind the scenes’ access to attractions.

It will mean even more travel for Zoe, but the opportunity to get involved and help shape some of the industry thinking was too good to miss. Talking about the new position, Zoe said

“I’ve been attending more and more of the TEA events throughout Europe and the world over the last few years and it has certainly helped gain a better understanding of what operators are looking for with a supply partner and at the same time, see the direction of travel for the industry. The demands of consumers are changing fast and that means as a manufacturer of rides, we need to be able to lead this thinking.

I think it was Henry Ford who said ‘If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.‘

We know what is possible and are always looking to innovate and deliver better service to operators and better ride experiences to consumers. I believe that this will really help us as a business to better understand which innovations are faster horses and which lead onto real market making opportunities.
